The amount of time it takes to craft each lipstick depends on the number of colors that need to be mixed. While the basic palette is set, each product may be customized with a full-color design on the case. The process, which takes up to two years and five months, involves more than 100 steps. The traditional ingredients for nail lacquers are also used for creating MAC Viva Glam Lipsticks. Each color is blended together by hand, making it impossible for the finished product to look identical from one piece of merchandise sold at an individual price point.
5. Each lipstick is made with selected ingredients
High-grade ingredients are used to create each lipstick, specifically vitamin E and safflower seed oil that moisturize the lips while volumizing them. The formula also contains pigments that create a long-lasting colored effect.
